The lights were switched on by the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Ruth Bush, and the event was brought to the community by the Church Street Regeneration Programme and the local ward councillors.
The event was a festive success with face-painting, henna artists, police and fire brigade stalls, not to mention some of Church Street’s finest cuisines, including samosas from Laila’s and paella from Paella Bros.
Christ Church Bentinck Primary School choir, Gnawa Entertainment and Lauren May provided the harmonious cheer on Church Street which lasted throughout the evening.
