Calling all children age 6-11 to join our new FREE poetry and dance performance project 'Dancing Poems'
Mala CHERGA Theatre is calling young dancers age 6-11 to join our exciting new project. We are exploring the wonderful world of Haiku poetry (a short Japanese poetic form) and using these beautiful poems as inspiration for creating original dance peces. Children are exploring existing Haiku poems, writing their own, and translating them into expressive choreography. The children will have opportunities to showcase their dance to parents, at local events and festivals in central London, giving them a fantastic opportunity to share their talents to a wider audience and gain invaluable experience.
This project is a wonderful way for children to develop creativity by expanding their language and movement vocabulary, performance, and writing skills whilst making new friends and having fun. It’s a chance for children to express themselves in unique ways and build confidence through creating and performing.
