Site A design update at Church Street Library
In what feels like a pretty wet Summer so far, we held an outdoor exhibition outside the Church Street Library during a rare break in the July rain. This was our third update event, and it was a pleasure to see many residents there sharing their thoughts on the plans for Site A. We really appreciate your time and the valuable feedback you provided. Thank you to everyone who came along.
We hope most of you have had a chance to see the designs, either at one of our events or online. If you could not make any of these events but would like to see the designs, you can view them here at https://bit.ly/Church-Street
The Site A, Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) Public Inquiry took place in June. This was the final formal process in the Council’s application to use statutory powers to acquire property. Compulsory purchases would only ever be used as a last resort and are required to guarantee that the regeneration scheme can go ahead,
The Planning Inspector is now considering the information submitted, and when we get a response, we will let residents know. If you want to get email updates on the CPO and other aspects of the regeneration of Church Street, you can do that at the link below:

Church Street Market welcomed our monthly community market on Thursday 18th July.
Our local community groups had a chance to talk to residents and showcase all the great work they are doing and how they help within the community.
We had a range of stalls including WAES where you could find employment opportunities, Family Information Service who are providing advice and help to children and parents, Citizen’s Advice, MEWSO, Community Champions and Lord’s Cricket providing some fun activities.
Church Street Monthly Community Markets run throughout the summer months, and we have our next community market on Thursday 22 August, 10.00am to 2.00pm. If you are a local community organisation and would like to find out how you can take part in our next Community Market, you can email us at churchstreet@westminster.gov.uk or call 020 7641 2968
When the Royal Albert Hall comes calling, you must answer that call. Church Street residents attending the Penfold Community Hub had just that opportunity. Through a project called ‘Outside the Box’ Church Street residents collaborated with artists from the Royal Albert Hall on a 4-month project called "Outside the Box."
Participants were able to develop skills in writing, performing arts. Expert members of Penfold‘s Sewing Café also got involved in making original knitting and crochet pieces.
The multi-generational and multi-arts project aimed to explore the history and identity of the Royal Albert Hall. Following four month-long preparations, a final performance showcasing the work created during the project took place at the Royal Albert Hall in June in front of invited audience of family, friends and neighbours.
Big thanks to the Royal Albert Hall’s Engagement programme, which aims to enrich people's lives and offer fairer access to the Arts.
