As part of Site A Regeneration and the requirement for new buildings to be registered, we will work with the local community to name the new homes. It is important to us that the new names are respectful of the existing community and reflect Church Street’s history.
We will be holding a theme and naming workshop with the Church Street Regeneration Community Group (CSRCG) to gather their feedback. We will propose themes around ties to market heritage, local figures and cultural and artistic heritage.
Following the meeting with the CSRCG, we will take their feedback to help draw up the shortlist, which we will then share with you.
You can submit your suggestion at:
We will want to hear your views on the potential names for the new buildings. We are keen to know what you think, so please do get involved!
We will keep you updated throughout this process and look forward to sharing the outcomes of these workshops with you.
You can give us your feedback by coming to the Regeneration Space or coming to one of our coffee mornings – see dates for your diary
for the next one.
On Friday 14 March, the Church Street community came together for a meaningful Iftar meal, celebrating unity, cultural understanding, and the power of connection.
The gathering served as a reminder of how shared experiences can strengthen our community, foster inclusivity, and enhance health and well-being.
A huge thank you to Berkeley Group for sponsoring the event and to their dedicated volunteers who supported us every step of the way.
We also extend our appreciation to the Community Champions Church Street Project for their sponsorship and hands-on support throughout the event.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this special occasion. We look forward to many more opportunities
to come together as a community!

After reviewing resident feedback and considering the best way to continue, the council can now update residents. As residents will hopefully remember, the Lisson Grove programme consists of two sites:
1.The council offices on Orchardson Street
2.Gayhurst, Penn House, 4-12 Lilestone Street, and the Greenside Community Centre.
The council’s plans would see these buildings replaced with:
We would like to discuss these plans with you and answer any questions you might have.
You can do that at one of our drop-in information sessions – see the Dates for your Diary section of the newsletter.
