A new project has launched, allowing Westminster residents to digitise their old photos for free.
Named Memory Lab and based at Church Street Library, the project targets the city’s older residents, but everyone is welcome.
All you need to bring is any old physical photographs or even newspaper clippings, where a trained volunteer will be there to assist you with scanning your memories.
The images will be saved onto a memory stick and given to the resident to take home.
The project has been extended, with two drop-in sessions a week until Tuesday 16 January 2024.
The sessions, taking place every Tuesday between 10am and 1pm and every Thursday between 2pm and 5pm, are walk-in, with no need to book.
Users of the Memory Lab equipment will also be asked whether their memories can be added to our Westminster Archives to help us improve the depth and diversity of our archives - with more social representation across council collections.
Drop-in sessions available from 21 Sep - 16 January 2024 at Church Street Library
